I warned my nephew what would happen to him when he went to the meltdowns this year. Sure as hell. He's already scored a 65 comet and sbf. Here are some pics of his progress.
It's good to see another Comet being built. The Meltdown is a fantastic event. What other modifications are next? So what did your nephew do with the parts he cut out of the car? (Shock towers, steering box/pitman arm, etc?)
Tell him to read this thread for inspiration and good luck. https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum...d-drag-cars-lets-see-pictures.335534/page-299
Steering gear and pitman arm will be reused. Everything else hit the scrap pile. Looking for a 9". Front wheels should be here today. Waiting to hear from machine shop about block condition
There's a member here with a really snotty high compression Windsor he'd like to sell. Ran mid 10s in a Fox body mustang. If going fast is also in the plan PM me and I'll reach out.
Picker jack took a shit. Too far to harbor freight. Mock up engine in. Got the old caslers on for now. Will need more width. Kids in height of his glory
Those 64/5 Comets & Falcons are some of the best styles to come out of the Ford camp, ever. Like 'em a lot! Watching this one!
Block and crank done. Pick up tmrw. Starting to work on body. No show car job here. Race cars are usually 25 footers. Got a paint scheme in mind
Thanks. Gonna be a long road. As time allows. Nephew has a 2 1/2 year old boy and my son is battling cancer. Have customer cars to work on as well as well as my wife's car and mine as well hoping to run riff raff at havana nostalgia meet next month. Priorities first though. As body panels get done they're gonna get painted and stashed in his garage till main body is done. Then build it. I'll post pics of panels as they're painted.
Sonic03bluegt has or had a motor to sale. If any of yall have a facebook follow along there. I uploaded most of the pictures that photobucket tried to make me pay to host up to the facebook page so you can still check them out there https://www.facebook.com/southernflyer12/
I'm frequently guilty and have the marks to prove it. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Got some white on doors and left fender. Block is on the stand. Heads showed up today. Woohoo!! Wait this is his car. I haven't done nothing to mine since the meltdowns. Sigh
