I had to re-read you first post. It sounded like you wanted to make your Impala into a 2-door post car...
But I see just you want new doors for your Impala and you want to modify the door with a post work on your hardtop. What is wrong with your Impala doors? If the door outer-skin is jacked-up, but the rest of the door structure is OK --> CARS, Inc makes a new outer door skin that will work.

  5. Why would you change an '64 Impala to a Belaire or Bisquit? that why

As far as fitting your Impala is probably a hard top. It will be more then welding a door post in and bolting up the doors, the Impala hard top is going to have longer doors and the door opening with need to be adjusted. As will the shape of the quarter glass etc.

What im looking to possibly do is use biscayne doors after cutting the post OFF and changing the glass since impala doors arent easy to source original

  9. I am pretty sure that they are shorter. You can buy new skins for the doors is you have crappy doors by the way. Skinning one isn't nearly as bad as it sounds.

I'm not a 1963-64 Impala expert, but I do know the outer skin between he two years are exactly the same, which leads me to believe that you can use doors from a 1963 Impala. Some more research may be needed.

  11. Put an ad in our classifieds wanting some doors. They aren't really that hard to find. I sold 3 last year. Still have a pair on an old body if you want to buy an extra whole car body☺

Are you trying to go from a sedan to a hardtop door? Or mix and match 2 and 4 door doors. Remember-A 4 door sedan Impala, Bel Air and Biscayne all would have the same door(s). Only the trim would be different. Don't confuse trim level with body style. Remember: not all 55-57 Chevys were Bel Airs, but you wouldn't know by some folks.) And while 63-64 doors may physically interchange, the body lines are a lot different. The door body lines won't match the quarter and front fender body lines. And obviously, hardtop doors are different than sedan doors. Are you trying to make a sedan (4 door, I assume) into a 4 door hardtop?

Incorrect, the 2-door door skins are exactly the same for 63-64 and the body lines WILL match exactly on either year. Look closely at both years and look past the trim.
1963-64 LH Door skin from CARS, Inc: http://carsinc.com/1963-64-full-door-skin-left-hand-13142.html
FYI, the 1961 and 1962 Impala 2-door door skins are EXACTLY the same also.

I can also verify the '63 doors will bolt on a '64. We did it to a buddy's '64 back in high school.

I am certain the inner structures of the two doors are different. the tracks for the windows on a hardtop will be completely different from a post car. probably other things as well. how bad are the doors you have now? probably more work to get the post doors and glass to work than to fix what you got.

I agree. I think the only solutions will be: 1) Fix your doors or 2) Find a set 63-64 Impala doors.
