A friend just bought a nice '64 Ford long bed with a V-8 & 4 speed with granny first. So how can we ID what engine it has? From what I've been able to research, they came with either a 330 or 361 C.I. . This has a 2 bbl, and can't ask the previous owner....he died...
Any help will be appreciated, Thanks.

  2. 1964 F100 V8 would be a 292 Y Block 64 was the last year for a Y block. The 4th digit of the VIN should be either a C or D which both are for a 292. The 1st three will be F10 for an F100, F11 for an F100 4WD, F25 for an F250, F26 for an F250 4WD, or F35 for an F350
If it's an F250 it probably is a Y code, which would be a 352 FE motor
List the VIN and I'll tell you the particulars

I had a 64' Ford longbed with a 292' Y-block....the ID was 'stamped' on the 'rating' plate.....yours probably had the same marker I would imagine.
