    It came out of Death Vally where it sat for 30 years off the road a long time no rust at all.

    Looking to get another comet;
    Missed a black Cyclone in Tx, by a couple of days.
    Missed a blue Caliente also in Tx, by a couple of days.
    Missed a white Caliente in N.C. by an hour, the guy got a call an hour before I called him on a two hour C.L. post...

    This ain't going to be easy is it...?

    Drag car!!!? Oh I see it now! something was in my eyes before!

    Bummed.... right now.. wicked bummed... Talked to a guy last night about his Comet on C.L. we made a deal, had a nice talk about his Comet, agreed on a price, he wanted a M.O. Ok.. no problem. Called back this morning as I forgot to get an address, his wife basically called me a theif and not to be trusted since I didn't come look at the car, I told her we had a price and I was sending a M.O. for the agreed on price... she went off on me! Told me I was trying to rip them off, who would buy a car without looking at it, who who send a Money order, and she wasn't goin to give me an address to send the M.O. to (MAN! I was taking the first leap of faith by sending them the money!!) !!
    The price was excellent, maybe too excellent... they must've got a better offer, ok, I get that, not happy about it I get it. But to take the route she did was uncalled for. Now i'm bummed and a little pissed...

    She probably read this on Craigslist and thought you were trying to rip them off.

    Probably... Craigslist wants only local cash deals apparently, but ebay does these same auto transactions hundreds of time a day. There are always going to be horror stories in any type of transaction.

    I suggested to her that our banks talk to each other, simple, safe, secure. No luck, guess I may have had a fake bank constructed just to buy her Comet. riiiight....

    Oh well... didn't mean to hijack this thread.

    Time to move on back to topic.

    Anyone know if Roy made it to the March Meet? I was going to call him before because he still needed to get his cylinder heads back on. Brian

    Brian;NO,I did not go to the MM! I'm tired of the CIRCUS and paying A LOT of money and being treated like S_ _T!! Car is still apart, can not get motivated, may take some time away from the sport!! ROY.

  24. To bad the AFX and BFX type cars do not get the respect they deserve from that event. 60s door cars cool. But it seems like it is all about the nitro cars. I was envolved with a group of 120 racers trying to build our own 1/8 track. I with drew my money this week. Hope to get parts for my comet this week. Planning on 4 race weekends and a couple test and tunes.

    The March Meet is all about MONEY and drinking,it is known as a party where a race MAY happen!!! Door cars are an intrusion to the Famoso powers that be,they can have it,after 25+ years of racing the MM,parking in the mud [or worse],I'm done!! ROY.

    Roy, what was it that determined it was a Cyclone? The reverse lights?..I know Ken just removed his tail lights with the reverse lights, and got the correct ones from A/FX Dave.

    It's a Cyclone because of having no trim on the fenders, doors, or 1/4 panels. (Way too many holes to fill) It is missing the Cyclone wheel opening trim and rocker trim, but it has the flag and Cyclone rectangular emblem on the front fender. Also Cyclones had the area around the tail lamp trim painted satin black, it is missing on this tribute car. It sure looks like a nice car, have any more pictures to share?
