  11. Salt looks kind'a mushy,,,,,:( or is it just loose?

  12. Fairly new here, just noticed this thread, and I have a few questions.
First off, did you make up your own elecrtic water pump, or does somebody actually make then for a Y Block?
What are you using for a trans and rearend? (I suppose most info is in the54 pages, but I don`t have time to read it all yet.)
In a couple of garage shots, there is what appears to be aTriumph Herald in the garage, any plans for that, or is it a stocker?
Also nice to see another Ford "dentside" truck earning its keep. I`ve been hauling my drag cars with a 1974 F350 ramp truck since 1988. Its been up and down the West coast, from Ashcroft BC Canada to Sonoma CA, and many points in between.Good luck!

I used to own a 62 unibody.... The reason they quit making them is because if you loaded the bed with a little too much weight, the doors would not open. Liked mine though and kick myself for letting it go.

  24. Thanks for the video, GO TIM! Any info on numbers?
Sounds so effing good. Y-blocks in the hands of Tim are far from "boat anchors" as some call them.

Those last five come hard and expensive. I do like the sound of a healthy Y block at about seven grand, it make me grin all day.

  27. Thanks for posting those DRD57...Tim ran north of 147 his first pass, then a few slower during the next round. Apparently lots of wind and the track got a bit torn up. No word on what his last run(s) were.

I do have a few more pictures to share, though...

  28. I'm back home now, can't stay all week as I have to get home to clean up everything before going back to work. Thanks for all the positive comments, I made 10 runs down the salt, five on course three and five on the combo course. I like the idea of the combo course but all I got was slower runs there so I went back to the number three. I feel that is where the best traction was. 147.19 on the first pass was the best we could manage. (5 mph faster than last year) The wind was a factor but in the end it was up to me and my tuning. I had one pass (#3) where two rockers backed off on me, I don't think it did any real damage but after I fixed everything I never did any better than 142. Bummer! Still had a good time, saw a lot of great people and came back alive. :D There is still more there I think and we will find it at El Mirage in the next few months.

  29. I was "mushy" indeed! made quite a mess when we first went to the pits. Front of the race truck looked like it was a frosted cinnamon roll. What a mess!
