What's the deal with all the videos attached to your photos? HRP
free photo hosting I guess....need to find another way to post videos.
durango is an suv, no bed.
Wasn't that bed also an option that would put the sticker price down $800 or so?? Those beds actually grow on you after time, at least with me they did.
Wrong is correct. Its factory.
Sorry but I had a 63 with the bed shown in the first post and it was factory installed. The book "Ford Pickups Color History" page 89 shows the bed and explains the reason for it. Some got the matching bed, some didn't. We all know that people overload pickups, and thats not too big a problem with a separate bed. But over load a unibody pickup and the frame flexes and it will pinch the doors shut. You can't get them open. Customers don't like that. They had problems early on in production, and to keep up with demand they offered the earlier bed and I think a little price break on it. I had had mine as a daily driver and just figured it had been rear ended and replaced. But the guy I got it from knew the truck from brand new [it was an auto parts runner where he worked] and that bed came on it. The shop got a break on the price by taking the odd bed and of course they didn't care, it was cheaper. Believe it or not yes some did come that way.
I had a couple of 63's with that same bed.....
Yup. My blacksmith drives exactly the same setup. Ford liked to mix-it-up.
