So i went to the lsru this year. What a blast!!! My whole family is actually considering moving to the hill country area outside austin tx which im super pumped about. Itd be a nice change from the crowded north east. Anyways im planning on tinishing the car over the next month or so. Mocked the wheels up today to see if the coker 5.20's will clear. Its tight but everything looks good ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1432055173.863738.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1432055185.698000.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1432055198.338094.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1432055208.076422.jpg

Itll run, it just needs a little tune up and i need to find new alternator brackets because the brackets broke so i took the alt off untill i could get new ones. That killed the battery obviously and now its been sittin lol

Newb wiring question here. Id like to put a toggle switch on the wire going to the ignition so i can turn the compressors and air ride off. The car cranks a tad slow sometimes as the compressors and all are running as well. Plus god forbid if anyone stole it they wouldnt get far without airing up. How do i wire a basic toggle off of that power wire? Im a total fool when it comes to wiring. I have the wire going to an ign source on my fuse panel right now. Thanks for any help

  13. insert a single pole single throw switch in series with the 12 volt ign feed to the ecu. The switch will have two terminals, cut the wire and put one end on each terminal.

Coming late to the party here, but have you got a drain on your tank? I installed one on my 64 tank and it is very useful to drain condensate out of the air tank. I used a Schrader valve located below the tank near the rear bumper out of sight. I have also found that it can be used to air up the tank after the car has set for a while to save on the battery drain. I run two compressors so they eat up the juice on long runs. FWIW.

Thanks man so im literally just splicing a toggle in the middle of the wire and thats it ? And yea i have a drain on the underside of the tank. Also have two water traps on there as well.

Heres a decent pic of the interior i took tonight. Just trying to knock out little things. Did the pass side door jambs tonight. Gonna order a new alt bracket and get the car running again

  15. looks great! an in line splice of that switch should be all that is needed to shut the ecu down.

Finished the door jambs tonight. Also got my new alt brackets in. Very nice kit off ebay, you can see how heavy duty they are compared to the originals. I also shortened my plug wires since they were ridiculously long, and tried out a chrome cleaner i saw on jay lenos garage

Figured out my killswitch for the compressors and air ride ecu. Made a simple washer to fit snug into the lighter bezel and used the stock lighter knob on the toggle switch so everything looks original. Should put less strain on the battery since it wont have to crank the engine and fire the ecu and compressors all at once. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1435476179.342716.jpg

Well my killswitch isnt working. Im assuming its the switch because the power continues to run to the air ride ecu while the switch is in either position. I honestly cant recall the name right now on the chrome cleaner. Ill get back to you on that. Threw some ezcool insulation up on the roof today and started poppin the door panels back in. Should get it fired back up this week, i got an optima red top today as well. Also on a side note my dad and i went and picked up a cool little 66 f100 with a 240/3 on the tree for him to daily drive ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1436223391.128592.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1436223406.195997.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1436223422.887081.jpg

Got the car fired up tonight. Threw some fuel down the carb, and on the second attempt it fired right up and purred real nice. New fuel pump works great. Carb needs a rebuild tho. I think my acc pump is shot. Super light throttle itll run smooth, any type of heavier throttle itll fall on its face
