Now THAT.........is my idea of a good-look'in straight axle gasser!! No moon shot 6 feet off the ground front end!
Nice stance now ready for a stroked out Windsor 393 ( or 460 BB) or such ........with a nice tunnel ram!

Thanks! I'm still thinking 460 with toploader, though I might stroke it to 521 CI. Maybe I'll put 260 fender badges on it: 260 inches on the right, 260 inches on the left!

Seems like I have a pair of small chamber Boss heads looking for work out in my shop. A little Boss motor would be fun…

Floor panels are welded in and the firewall is painted. Nothing like some fresh shiny to motivate you!

Right on! Josh Pruitt's '63 Fairlane is one of my favorite SEGA cars.

I had a very nice '65 hardtop I sold in 2017. There are pics somewhere on the HAMB.

It's slow going lately but I managed to paint the rear housing and suspension and finish the brakes..

My fenders are very rough so I've been on the hunt for a while. They are hard fenders.jpg to find for the 60/61. A decent set finally showed up but I had to travel 8 hours round trip to get them. At least I got a smokin' deal: $80 for both fenders and the valence.

I replaced the fenders on the tilt front end and tweaked the whole assembly to get half-decent gaps on the doors and cowl. That took more time than the tilt frame fab. What a pain!

Enough to get the oil pan behind the axle:) It ended up being around 6" from c/l front axle to #1 plug. The firewall was moved back 8".

I went to the Moultrie GA swap meet today and picked up some vintage parts. I've been after a green metalflake steering wheel and hopefully I can get this one cleaned up. I got a good deal on a stainless Superior, as well and a set of Stewart Warner vintage gauges. I need to find the right sending units.

The 8.5K Sun sweep tach looked pretty sweet.

Three coats, block sand, rinse and repeat 'til it's straight. Now to tackle the rusty doors, trunk lid, hood and fenders.

No one seems to make door patch panels for this thing. I bumped the contour in a finger brake and then hit the bend lines with a body file. Pine was used to make the front edge complex-curved hammer form. It will need some filler for sure.

My master cylinder pokes through the floor about 3/4". This was deeper than I can bead-roll and the draw was too deep for the aluminum hammer formed piece I tried. So I made a quick fiberglass mold.

I guess if I paint these Ford blue, they'd kinda look vintage.

Thanks for tire info.. Sure you don't want to go the whole 10% set back, 4 more inches and still be with in rules. Looks like a MEL engine to me,;);).

It's been a very long time since I blocked a car for paint and I haven't kept up with the latest products. I can't believe I just discovered powder guide coat. It makes block sanding so much easier!

And... they sell PSA sandpaper for your long block by the 20 yard role!
