found this over the weekend and brought it home today. Speedo reads 52,600, we'll have to crawl around it a bit and see what she looks like. 235 3 speed on the column.

I've got the 54 running for the summer. Probably drive it till fall then start on the front end treatment. This truck will need a little love, it's been sitting since 99. Other than the rust in the bottoms of the front fenders it's a pretty nice 61.

Now that the Apache and I have become intemit friends, I will address it as "Cully" . This is short for Culligan which was lettered on the front bumper, with the few red letters behind the kicense plate showing strong. The tin indian was surely a company truck for a Culligan soft water company, Dick W. and I are certain the odometer is right on at 52k, it is just to clean underneath and inside on the floorboards etc. It is very nicotine laden inside, a pattern of the drivers arm is seen on the drivers door, a cool feature is a wired on brake pedal pad, they are pesky little devils to stay on. The motor is sounding strong also. We now proudly have 4 c-10 trucks in the S.O.T. roster. ~sololobo~

Elbow grease, an aggressive scotch brite pad, 3-M liquid rubbing compound and a Meguires cleaning wax all mixed together. Rub till it looks better. Solo Lobo is a pro when it comes to detailing.

  20. I started out with pretty much the same truck, same engine/trans, fun and easy to work on, got lots of thumbs up before and after, liked it so much I did a second one. Here's a before and 7 months after pic. Total investment in the finished ride was about 3600 bucks and about 300 hours of welding, sanding, painting and upholstering. I sold it to start the second one, the current owner drives it with a huge grin every day.

Been driving around town a couple of days now. This truck is a sweet heart, not much cab rattle, a few small odds and ends and I'll have me a new daily driver. Officially a member of the blue turd crew.
