Here's what I drove in the 60's when I came back from the Army.
A '68 Plymouth Satellite lowered chrome wheels babymoon hub caps, duel exhaust (glasspacks). Bottom picture is the night I bought it brand new!
Hope you can see them, they'er about the only good pictures I have of it.

This car belonged to a pin striper in the San Fernando Valley. It had a big block Ford. He went by the name of "GOTCHA". He was also president of "RACE?", a street racing club that met behind the Bank of America on Van Nuys blvd every 12 midnight on Saturdays.

How about a Barris-built Corvette? This is it, as of September 1st, 2007. The car was in More American Graffiti and makes a run down the dragstrip toward the end of the movie. It still wears the same Candy Apple lacquer paint. It was once yellow and graced the cover of Rod & Custom magazine. Does anyone else have any information on the car??

I remember pictures of that car way back without the blower and Cragers. It was one of my favorite early Corvette customs in it's original comfiguration. It needs to be restored to the way Barris first built it. Come to think of it, it didn't have those goofy mirrors, flares, VW front nerf bars or Corvette grille either.

Yeah, I liked it a lot better without the flares, and with the much shorter roll bar. The magnesium wheels were cool too...I wish I had some more photos of the car from back then.

I too, will now love this thread.

A friend of mine sent me some pics of this Fresno-based survivor. Apparently built in '60 and in Blackie's Autorama in '60 & '61...

Great thread, love that '60's hot rod look. Last week visited the NHRA museum at the Pamona Fairplex. That place has some great examples of cars from that era, many famous ones too.

I saw this car run at Pittsburgh International Dragway in the mid 70s.
Brings back a ton of memories!
