[IMG] [IMG] [IMG] Here's one that I'm currently working on. It's a late 50s style sport coupe. Most parts 1955 and older. Still lots of chrome and intricate upholstery to do

  3. I did my Hudson with the 60s in mind, but the flames look to modern without white pin striping.
I've paid my striper to do it, but we haven't yet, as I like the look without, for now.
This sure is an awesome thread, here's my favourite pile, and daily driver. IMG_20141216_200605.JPG

And a pick that Moose did for me with chrome wheels, and wide whites. This vehical isn't as traditional as I'd like, but its fun and will eventually be sold to fund a trad 60s style Model A RPU.
Or that's the current plan. kiwi jeff 1.jpg

Love the fishtail zoomies on that coupe. Great look and a bit different.

I'm sure Kiwijeff will remember this golden oldie:
Someone was going to restore this car a few years ago. I wonder what happened to it?
Originally built by Ray Carter (1967 I think), originally Y block powered, then a 289, and finally a tunnel-rammed 460 cube big block.

  6. The Road Hog.
One of my favourite Kiwi hot rods, it is currently being rebuilt.
I can't remember exact details, but the owner has, or had it in storage while working in Australia, with plans to restore it to its original look, as above, or something like that. Don't quote me on that, I may be wrong, going on info from New Zealand Hot Rod Forums.

Another Kiwi classic: John Reid's Vandal Dodge bucket, built in the late 60's and recently restored to former glory:

  9. Another favourite of mine, this was how it looked when first built. I never knew this as a teenager, but was hell bent over its second look, black n flamed, and renamed Black Sabbath.
I have the New Zealand Hot Rod magazine with Black Sabbath on the cover, but its getting to late to dig it up. Maybe tomorrow :D

I lived in the UK when Vandals's second incarnation "Black Sabbath" was featured in the british Rod n Custom magazine. I made it my mission when I emigrated here to collect every issue of NZHRM from the first issue up to 1979. Think I've got every issue except the first and second.

I sure hope trikes are Ok Moriarity. I saw yours on the Mad Fabricators DVD, looks cool. Reminds me of Roth's Mail Trike and Candy wagon.
I remember the story about Roth being denied access to the Street Rod Nationals because he turned up on a trike.

    My all-time favourite:

Dan Woods's cars may not be everyone's cup o' tea, but I love his stuff.
Shuten did a great job of the restoration. I'd love to see footage of it fired up and running, anyone?

Shameless plug for my '60's inspired '32 altered replica. Glass "because race car". I was going for "still under construction strip bruiser." I drive it often to work, drag it locally, and may or may not partake in very late night, paradise rd. type activities (hence the 2nd power adder). Runs uncorrected 9's thus far at mile high DA. Cannot get fuel at a service station without cell phones snapping pics and older guys grinning. Fun!

My Dad, sister and I with his nailhead powered 35 Chevy standard coupe circa 1963, and my Uncles 51 Vicki which was built in 1965.

  27. ^^^^ looks like your family was the baddest in town in the 60's.

  28. Diggin' your Dad's '35 Chevy coupe. Not your standard hot rod in '63. Any additional details other than Buick powered?
