This is interesting. Anyone got pics of it from the 60s? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Once...ce_Cars_Not_Street_Legal_?hash=item35a521adc3
Herb Adams was known as a bit of a suspension wiz, and later became involved with the Trans-Am series with the factory Firebirds.
Thats kind of an understatement!! I used to work with Herb Adams during the mid-nineties. He was the lead suspenion engineer at SLP Engineering. At that time, we were doing the Fomula Firehawks for Pontiac and the Camaro SS conversions for Chevy. I was the Service and Warranty manager for those cars. Herb was a really interesting guy. Kinda quite and soft-spoken - but new his shit better than anyone..... That car has him written all over it - BAD ASS!!!!
Watching that one. The original Helzapoppin dragster recently went for just $5200, wonder what this will bring...
Looks a bit similar to the "Banshee" that John deLorean tried to push through as pontiacs answer to the Corvette in the mid 60's...
The Alfa Romeo bat cars share a striking resemblance with that car. http://www.conceptcarz.com/vehicle/z10320/Alfa-Romeo-BAT-5.aspx In the late 70's, when I was real young and a early Pontiac Trans-Am fanatic, Mr. Adams sold all the coolest suspension parts. I remember reading about that car and wondered if Bertone had something to do with it....
lmao. went back and looked at it again and it does look like a boat, wonder if it floats? still gotta respect all the time in it.
That was my first thought too. I don't see how people are calling this ugly. It's such a smooth shape, what's not to like about it?
That has a wicked Alfa-meets-Jag-meets-'Vette-meets-Pontiac appeal! I'm actually attracted to the rear styling on this car, along with the Pontiac engine and eight-lugs!
I think it's quite pretty. Very restrained for a one-off special....expecially an American one. I'd be tempted to give it a slightly taller (and nicer) screen though....but then, it's all keyboard conjecture on my part!
And I thought that I wanted a Pontiac Powered 46 GMC! --- I just changed my mind, All I need is a big bucket of money!
Paging Joe Bortz...paging Joe Bortz....I would not be the slightest bit surprised if he ends up with it.
