I just got my 62 c10 all stripped apart and I'm sand blasting the cab, and everything tomorrow after work...
    I'm thinking paint colors/ designs...
So far I'm my ideas are a "creamsicle" light orange with a cream top...
Anyone seen any interesting ideas or have any ideas. I only do not want to do red like alot of these trucks are...
I'm drawing inspiration, and about to buy primer and paint.

Also still have not managed to find either a usable fleet or stepside bed. Haha

What theme? Lowrider? Street Rodder? Stocker? Steel wheels or mags? Early '60's custom or more shp truck? Tuck-n-roll interior or straight up black vinyl?

I'm building it like a 60s cruiser/hot rod, steel wheels with baby moons, haven't decided on interior color yet, but will be stock design seat cover.

These trucks look good in just about any color, but I like them in light blue.

Here's a really nice orange and white one,

One of the great things about the early C-10s , is they look good solid or broken up in paint themes. There is a solid white 4-5 or 6 running around town here with the trim stripe painted I believe to be red. That truck is sharp at any angle. My 66, I sprayed 1968 Cadillac metallic black with 1969 Camaro cortez silver for the top. Turned out nice. 2014-03-06_20.07.04.jpg

I like all these old trucks but I like the fleetside beds better, the 60 and 61 hoods and C trim are also a unique look.
As far as color I guess I have a soft spot for the factory green color like the first one "Dan in Pasadena" posted.

That's a super nice 60/61. I painted a 64 in a similar green from a 1956 GMC with a white roof. Hated it when I sprayed it... But by the time it left I wished I hadn't sold it.

I've also been looking at doing a dash swap while it's all apart.
Anyone's ideas on something like a 59 Buick or a 50 Chevy car dash... Or any other ideas other than a 59/60 impala.

This is red, but I like the colour break along the body reveal. Wasn't this colour break factory?

You just can't go wrong with the factory two-tone scheme, whatever the color choice. Those trucks were made to be two-toned. They're always on my radar, great trucks. Keep us updated, summershow.
