Customs '60's Builds. 60-65!!!

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Donuts & Peelouts, Jan 15, 2018.

  1. 64 Chevy c-10 W/1st generation 327... I’ve had this since ‘91... just got done shaving the hood vent cowel and now I’m flipping the rear bumper to bring up tight against the rear fenders and makeing a sheet metal valence to go between bumper and bed, and then loose the old taillights and put on my new pair of ‘39 Chevy teardrops tail lights... what do ya think guys? Oh, also shaving all holes and bolts in both bumpers and recrome... can’t wait to see what it’s gonna look like...

I saved this Ranchero three years ago. Bought it for my sons first school car. Drove it home with no floors and bucket seats just sitting in the car. Needless to say it didn’t take long to go from cruiser to drag car. It’s not the fastest thing at the track but ya don’t see a shit load of them either.
Son and I have made many great memories building his thing. He’s really found a place in the car world and looks to make a living at welding and fabrication.
    Proud papa.

Not sure if this means 1965s are included. The new big GM body styles are nice.

"If you've come here to discuss anything other than Hot Rods or Customs built in a style representative of 1965 or before, you've come to the wrong forum."

Nice. Is the Galaxie a factory or custom color?

Sweet! Man that 327, one belt, couple hoses, couple wires...compared to today's engine compartments.

Close to factory, but it’s a repaint. I didn’t do it so don’t know the exact color. Bones

This was a 3 year project. It is now my daily driver.

    Thanks

  16. Pardon me for butting in, It was called burgundy metallic, I wrenched in a ford dealership in 64/65. It was a very popular factory paint color back then, usually came with a black vinyl roof. still looks good today.

The factory calls the original color “Vintage Burgundy”, according to the door plate. The guy I bought it from said this is as close as his painter could get to the original color. Bones

Thanks man. Yes it's lowered. Rear coils were cut, and front coils were cut a little with 2 inch drop axles
