Cool pics everyone. As a kid growing up in the 70's, I remember all the custom vans. I bought every vanning related magazine that I could back then & still have all of them today. Vans & vanners are still alive & well today. Alot have been put away & are being brought back out. Check out http://www.vannin.com One of the best van sites out there. Also, check out this vid of a 10 second Chevy van. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cqkQ-wtUH6A Please keep the pics coming,Brad
When I saw that pic, I knew you had a sense of humor... ( and to be fair, I had so show a pic of my Van too.) I had a Mk1 Transit with a V4 Consul GT engine in it too. With some mild porting of the heads, and an almost open exhaust it would outrun the later Trannies that came with the 2litre Pinto engines. Edit. It did about 90/95MPH flat out, if I remember right. And was a real white knuckle ride between 60 and 75. The trick was to accelerate through that as quick as possible, so it would smooth out at speed... In the rain it would powerslide...loads of fun... Supervan 1 is my all time favorite...
Here's a pic of my 72 Chevy shorty. Slowly working on it. Here's a link to some pics of custom vans. Anyone know where they might be today? http://public.fotki.com/Lordmodelbuilder/vanning/where_are_they_at_today/ Thanks,Brad
I know that guy. His name is Harrod Blank. The van has working cameras all around it so he can capture people's reactions as he drives past them.
