I built a 1960 Falcon with a Speedway straight axle kit. The front leaf springs are way to stiff and I would like to remove one or two leaves to soften the ride. When I bounce the front the only movement is in the tires. Anybody know which one/s to remove. Thanks

  2. We usually remove the shorter ones, It seems to have less stress on the main leaf eyes.

Is the engine in the car? If not you need to add the weight before making any changes.

You need stiff springs to absorb the *bang* when you pull the front end 2 feet in the air and the weight of a blown big block comes down hard.

I only got a small block Chevy in it but I still hope to yank 'em up some. I figured a little stiff was good but I'm sure its quite a bit too stiff now.
