In my ‘31 I’m going to use the 6 volt, 4 cylinder set up for the rest of the summer/fall only. In the spring, I’m going to be putting in a 12 volt 8 cylinder. I need a battery for both but hate to buy the 6 volt battery for only 2 month use. Would it be too much to put on an alternator, modern points, and new battery for the 12 volt to run the old engine?
they make voltage reducers (12V to 6V) but i think you would need one for every circuit and each gauge... by the time you do that you could have just bought a 6V battery Chappy https://www.speedwaymotors.com/Spee...wiGH-lIUkPUoQ3HELctmKsj0X0DZShxAaAh2IEALw_wcB https://www.speedwaymotors.com/Elec...Rwg_j6yLt1vGhyYIyY_Cy9P4IRJrb1MYaAnwbEALw_wcB
One solution would be to use a small 6 volt Optima battery for now, and when you convert to 12 volt, buy another 6 volt battery and run them in series for 12 volts. Sent from my SM-T350 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
