I did a quick search but didn't find exactly what I'm looking for. Does anyone have or know where I can find the motor mount location for putting a 59a into a '32 frame. I plan to build my own motor mounts that mount to the sides of the frame since I'm using an A front crossmember.
I was just looking at a Hurst instruction sheet, so will post a summary from post on Fordbarn/same question... Follow the Hurst instructions for the side mounts that bolt or weld to frame rails, anything similar to Hurst part A-28. You bolt the enginr to transmission and trans to crossmember, decide on front height, and put the mounts under the pump legs. Stock flathead engine height can be estimated from the crank bearing on front spring clamp and/or crank hole in grill...crank has to go through that hole to center of crankshaft on a '32. You have higher crossmember there, of course, but estimating shouldn't be hard. If you used a complete A crossmember frame will be a touch wider than stock '32, and check on radiator pad height...
I have the transmission mounted to the stock K-member, and the front is propped up just a tad from stock for the tach drive on the front of the crank to clear the spring clamps. The bottom mounting surface of the legs on the water pumps are just level with the top of the frame rails. If you want yours to be absolutely stone Ford stock, you should probably have your legs be about 3/4" below the frame rail's top surface.
