I want to run a '65 Mustang radiator with my 59A flathead. Does a 3 row Mustang radiator provide enough cooling or should I run the 4 row?

  2. Im a fanatic for 4 row "L" fins cores and flatheads.

I would say it would depend on weather. What body style (fat fender VS roadster) and a bunch of other things.

Get the biggest--whatever it costs extra is way less than if you discover the 3 row is inadequate and have to start over!

Flathead is in a 1929 "A" truck, no fenders and with a S10 5 speed.

I highly doubt a 3-row Mustang radiator would have problems cooling a 'lil flatty. As long everything else is in order (timing etc), I wouldn't bother with a 4-row.

Might I ask what your plan is for plumbing?

It would be plumbed like a stock flathead, an extra inlet and outlet would be added to the radiator.

I want to use a '28 '29 grill shell. A '32 radiator is to tall.
