I was envisioning the whole thing bathed in candy green with all the panels contrasting the bright base. You know, sorta Lowriderish.

 

Wow....I've never been a fan of those birds, but after this post.....

 

RULER. A club member had one of those and hated it. I tried like hell to get him to sell it to me cause thsoe things are bad ass and hardly anybody has the eye to make them this nice (including me cause I didn't think you could make it this nice).

Real nice bird. I can't wait to see it. get your ass into the shop and bring her to Mooneyes. I have a camera that needs some pix of this car.

 

it's rolling but not finished. I still have to do the final rub out and get it pinstriped before the outside is finished. that's why there are no complete photos of it yet. yeah I am weird like that... sorry

I did take it to the Von Franco show last weekend and it will be at moon this weekend, so stop by and see it sparkle!

Man, that car has a little of everything in it. Paint fades, spider webbing, lace, etc... Can't wait to see it finished. Keep the pics coming.

Yeah I wanted to stay away from that lowrider paint, but have elements of that kind of paint job combined with a Watson/Bellflower look.

After all the car was painted in South Gate, the next city over!

 

Sweet paint job!!! I have to ask, how many hours in masking alone....wow.

 

Looks Baddass, Man! Hope it makes the trip to Mooneyes...looking forward to seeing it in person.

As a squarebird owner (60 ragtop), I really look forward to the final, assembled pics. The paint is spectacular - the details with the fades in the scallops is awesome!!!

Good luck on your car project, and I hope this attached photo inspires you. I want to put the word out in your thread that I'm looking for the depicted 1958 Squarebird my mother Nelda Jean Caussey bought brand new and had Larry Watson scallop 47 years ago. Rod and Custom magazine featured this car in an article this year and, at the very least, I'd like to find the article to track down the car owner. The man who owns the car today bought the car from my mother in the early 1960s.
