59 jeep with nailhead bellhousing ???

I found a 59 jeep that has a buick bellhousing and an adaptor to the jeep transmission. Is this thing desirable? Will it work on my 401 nailhead?

 

My understanding is that the round to bell housings will work on 401's. That is with the automatics anyway. Jeep used the 400 trans that had the round top and they bolt up to 401's. Hope this helps.

 

Jeeps came with Buick engines for a few years. If the bell housing is strong enough for the heavier 401, look it over well and you decide.

 

I've still got one, so not very desirable unless you really want one.
