Art & Inspiration '59 Ford Photos.....

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by sidevalve8ba, Sep 28, 2019.

  1. I am a fan of '59 Fords and I seldom see any photos of them on the HAMB. Would you folks post any photos you happen to have of '59's? I would appreciate it.

  3. How about an unmolseted unrestored low mile Virgin? I think it needs a Watson style paint job and a set of Astro Suprem's. I just don't have the hart to do it.

One of the most beautiful roof lines and quarter panels ever made, and those wagons make me feel funny, like when i used to climb the rope in gym class ;)

Jonathan recently unearthed a decent 59 in NC, along with a bunch of others:

    INTRUDER ALERT!!!

    1958 Impala two brothers

    Hello,
When my brother and I were off to a friend's wedding, we were going to go in a mini caravan with our cousin's 1956 Chevy Bel Air 4 door hardtop. We hated wearing suits, but it was a wedding for a close friend. So, on with the suits and off we go... It was 1959, my brother's idea of a good looking Impala was to pop off the stock hubcaps and make it look like we just came from nearby Lions Dragstrip. Which we did the day before on a Saturday. School on Friday, drags on Saturday and a wedding on Sunday... teenage life in 1959.

Then, our local neighbor rolls by in his new 1959 Ford Sedan. What an action film from those early days of Fords and Chevy cars.

    Jnaki

I cannot remember, but it looks like the two Chevy sedans with occupants, had no inkling a new 1959 Ford rolled by our house.

  24. { A Story } My uncle bought a new 59 Ford convertible. He also built a model of it. I thought it was the Coolest car ever. I was only 7 at the time. Years later he gave me the model car. It's a very amateur build. But the memories of riding in his convertible are priceless.:) Ron...... 20200715_090734.jpeg 20200715_090158.jpeg 20200715_085837.jpeg 20200715_090254.jpeg

I don't want to pull attention away from the main subject but I enjoyed your memory and the
photos. I don't care how the model was built or what it looks like, you still have it after all
these years and the memory to go with it. I built multiple '59 Ford models as a nine year old
and really wish I had one of them to look back at. I loved the '59s and I'm sure my builds
included twin antennae, spot lights and glue-on louvers, along with a continental kit and
plenty of decals. One memory I'll never forget was being at my pal Kenny's house playing
with our models. Remember, the parts fit together and the cars actually rolled. Anyway,
during our lunch break with his mom I mentioned the term "retractable hardtop". From
their looks you'd have thought I was speaking Norwegian. They both wanted me to repeat
what I'd said but they had made me so uncomfortable that I clammed up. I may have been
a dopey 9 year old kid but I knew I was right in my word usage. Just another one of those
    crazy little memories.
