59 ford custom

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by toucan, Oct 26, 2010.

  1. Leave the handles....if you want a two door buy a two door! I once saw a guy take a '57 Chevy 4 door hardtop, weld the rear doors and shave the rear handles. The dumbass didn't swap out the front seat so there was no way to get in the back seat unless you crawled over! At the end of the day the guy still had a four door.....only now it was F'ed up.

Four doors are cool, lower it, drive it, enjoy it!

The last weekend in September in Gas City, IN. The same weekend as the James Dean Run in Fairmount, IN, about 15 miles south. About 2500 cars and a lot of fun. There's a web site with pictures from the last couple of years. A real good time.

ok if you have a ballast resistor on a old ford and you put some pertronix in it you need to bypass the block. the car runs awesome once you do!

Just got done reading your through all your post's. I dig everything but the lake pipes. No offense, I think bellflower's look better on late 50's cars. Gave me some good inspiration for my 59. Gonna definatley, lower mine. Dont know if the Astro springs will work on a wagon. Dig the skirts. Saw them on e-bay also for a $100. Also dig the flake. Gotta find a new exaust manifold for mine before I do anything else...
