'59 FE 361 Edsel help needed....

    -does anybody know if the same year Ford or Merc motor mounts work on the '59 Edsel?

    -will a 390 flexplate work on the 361?

    yes and yes. just make sure the flex plate has the same number of teeth. the later ones have more teeth, small gear on the starter.
     
  3. Yep...my uncle put an Edsel 361 in place of the 390 in his '61 Starliner when he put the original 390 in his ski boat...you'd never know it was any different...

    one of the newer flex plates will work but you have to run the newer style starter to make it work. It,s a good idea because the starter will be a stock item at any parts store,but the older one can be harder to find.
