59 Chevy pickup, what rear springs/hangers will bolt in

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by 59chev, Jul 15, 2005.

  1. Does anyone know of a set of springs/hangers (easily found at my local wrecking yard) that will bolt into my '59 chevy pickup? The second largest spring on the drivers side is cracked and I'de like to lower it an inch or so anyway.

    Thanks,
    Clint

You mean besides '55-'59 Chevy and GMC pickup springs?
    No.
But the longer shackles from a '39-'46 will bolt in and lower the rear about an inch or so.

73 to 87 half ton springs and hangers will work, you have to drill new holes in the frame. And if you flip the front hangers upside down, you can drop it several inches.

  4. You could measure the stock leafs and then just go checking at the yard????

  5. Thanks,
that's exactly the info I was looking for.
