SOLD Rare factory 4-wheel drive by NAPCO. Throughout much the 50's, if you wanted 4WD on a Chevy truck, you had to order the NAPCO Powr Pak as a dealer option or have it installed by an aftermarket upfitter. The 4WD option could double the price of a new pickup. By 1957, GM began installing some NAPCO kits at the factory. This particular 1959 Apache came from the factory as a 4WD. The NAPCO front axle is dated 1-24-59. All the NAPCO equipment is there. The body is rough. The fenders are rusty and bent along the rear edges. The door skins are also bent. The hood even has a little rust-though it could be usable. The roof above the windshield seems OK where these cabs commonly rust, but the cab corners and door steps are badly rusted. It has been years since the engine ran, and it was reported to have been pretty worn out. The engine does turn freely. I love old 4x4s, especially rare originals like this, but I can't keep 'em all. This truck needs a new home. Offers are welcome on this rare Taskforce truck More photos are posted at http://imageevent.com/shaggy/napco
