59 Apache diff issue.

Hi I'm a new member.
I had a specialist change diff ratio from 3.9 to 3.38 in my 59 Apache 3200
Just put axles back in and found the axle spacer will not fit into the diff. It appears to be about a 1/16" too wide.
Same axles, same axle shaft locks and same axle spacer (which is close to the thinnest of three listed in manual). The drivers side axle appears to be sitting in a little further than RHS axle though this is determined by the shaft locks so assume thats how it was originally.
Would appreciate any ideas to rectify.
