Ok pontiac guys. I have a 58 Safari wagon with the 370 and I would like to put an OD trans in it. Does anyone make an adapter for that combo or will i have to put in a different motor in order to put in a OD?
Bendsens adapters, ( http://www.transmissionadapters.com ) I have one in my model a with a '60 389, and a 700R. Great people and a great product, when I put an O.D. in my 56 poncho wagon, that will be my first call.
Wilcap also makes an adapter, but only BOP pattern I believe . That would leave you with the choice of a 200r4 trans. The 700r4 is a Chevy only bolt pattern.
i have a 700 od in my -62 catalina berntsen adaptor he makes for 55-60 also starter included in kit and flexplate.fits manual also but not the same parts flywheel and stuff
