Can any one help please. No body in New Zealand seem's to know. Sacked out old rear leaf springs need to be re- arched an have nothing to go off. Custom 300 70 D what we call a poverty pack car - no back seat.

What are you actually asking or are you bitching about the lack of skills of Kiwi Fabricators.

You can re-arch the springs yourself with a hydraulic press or a BFH and an anvil [and deaf neighbours]
All you need to do is measure how much you need to lift [or lower] from the present ride height.

Leaf springs are almost linear , so a 2" change in the static arch will give you close to 2" ride height change once the same weight is back on them.

Remove the springs and dismantle them.
Chalk them on the garage floor , then start hammering away [ use the chalk marks to gauge how much re-arch you need ]

  3. I used to de-arc springs for my stock cars to lower the rear. I used a press brake and it was a 2-person job. One to feed the spring, the other to hit the pedal. I marked the springs every 2" with a sharpie so each one could be worked equally. I'm sure somewhere you can find a sheet metal shop with a big brake that wants to make some cash on the side.
