I have never seen any gasser trucks of this year before. They look better lowered IMHO

agreed, plus they are heavy beasts... though it would be easy to do, just flip the back axle and instant gasser....

I dunno man, this is another "gasser" that shouldn't be. This is proof that "gasser" has become a household term that no one understands.

    OK kev,
Drop a 33 willys in my lap and I will be more than happy to make it a gasser. I also know what a Gasser is, And I myself don't want to build another lowered 59 just like all the other million lowered 59s.
I just didn't get the memo that trucks couldn't be built in a gasser /race style.

By the way alot of the push vehichles back in the day was wagons.

Ya I guess you could call that a street freak/machine ( Street machine was the term I had always heard as a kid) but ya I could see that.

  18. Can't agree more. When people start making gassers out things because "nobody has done it yet" is wrong in my book! Just my 2 pennies.

Why I don't like gassers all together. If you gonna make a drag car make a drag car, never been a fan or understood the point of making slow cars look like drag cars, with technology that actually slows it down.

I dig them and I think they are a cool throwback to a cool era in drag racing. I would drive the shit out of an of those. So what makes a true gasser fellas??

A "gasser", by definition, is a lightweight (in the day) vehicle that has been modified in such a way as to transfer its weight to the rear wheels via a high powered motor.

There were plenty of '40/'41 Willys p/u's on the gasser circuit. That being said, some p/u truck body designs just don't lend themselves well to the "gasser" theme. There's nothing saying any vehicle can't be jacked up and powered by a small/big block motor. These attributes by themselves don't make all vehicles gassers. Just my opinion...

Well,I guess the op didn't ask for opinions, just pictures.I suppose if he has a plan there's no reason not to do what he wants. That said,I think the trucks above look ridiculous.I also noticed that he never used the word "gasser" in the original post, just drag truck,so it wouldn't necessarily be as overdone as the flamed one above.I wouldn't think too many folks wanting to build a fast drag car in he early 60's would have chosen a big heavy truck.

I'm gonna be like a million other guys with my '59 (thank you Crushproof). BUT-I remember a model of a 55 Chevy p.u. called (I think) Badman. It was yellow with a black flash. It was really cool.

If you're tired of seeing them lowered,I'd rather see it something like this(minus the late bed) than a fake race truck.Just my worthless opinion.Do what makes you happy.

I haven't seen more than a handful of gasser style Chevy trucks, but of the ones I've seen I like this one the most by far.
