I know the Pontiac has a longer frame. But would cowl back 57 Safari body fit on a 55 sedan delivery frame. I’m sure there is a difference in spare tire and fuel tanks. Wondering if body mounts line up. Could put chevy floors in to fix the tire ‘n tank issue. Anyone done it? To build a Nomad using a Safari? Yeah, there’s less Safaris, but Nomads look better to me.

Somehow that sounds like a disaster hunting a place to happen. to me the Safari is a far better looking car all the way around.

    downlojoe33 and SS327 like this.
  3. I’d rather have the Safari

but look up chassis dimensions for both and compare

I know a few would save the Safari, but wonder if they swap.

I believe they only made less than 900 57 Safari's. The floor pans are completely different.

No. Completely different floors/body mounts. Sounds like a great way to ruin two cars.

What flynbrian said - - sell what you have and go find a whole safari to restore!
