Butch I bet you there are a lot of people out there that wish they were a dork. Glad that 57 nomad is staying in the family.

What would a photo like this do for you........

57 Nomad, been stashed in a little no window barn for the past 20 yrs.......

I looked at it best I could, interior still seems good and hasn't been eaten up. 283 in it, can't remember if it was a four speed or not. Fully restored in the 80s driving once after restoration, owner put car away afraid it would get damaged or stolen.....

There is a good sized tree one would have to cut down now and a wall to remove, IE, it is not in a building with a door.....

Naaa, freeing that car is easy.. Treat it to a Wild West Jailbreak.. Cut down the tree and the wall. Then drag the car out on the end of a chain..

Yeah, wanted to, poor guy has watched to much Barret Jackson and thinks the thing is worth way to much I am afraid.

On the upside of the whole thing he did give me my 58 TBird that I have gotten to a driver status :D

Got the shoes, wheel cylinders on and was changing the oil in the rearend and found these. Lots of bad rubber on this car...

I love those Nomads! Know where theres a couple around here, a 56 with 36k on odometer, was driven to current rusting location, and a krusty 57, but they won't sell them.

OK guys here's another update on the getting the nomad ready for the round up.

I got the new master cylinder on and got the brakes wrapped up. the mufflers were slowly falling apart inside so I took them off and got some more on order. We've been bombing around the neighborhood with open headers, so far the cops haven't showed up :D. I went ahead and changed the front mounts as well since they were starting to deteriorate.

I got some video of it idling in the garage but I cant figure out how to get it off my phone to here. I may have to record it again.

Small update I know but at least we are moving forward.....

Now that is a worthy family heirloom. The best tr-five body style IMO. I love the color too.

We have all the S.S. trim in the shop right now from a 57 Nomad; almost 150 feet of it from one car! These things have a lot of shiny.

Thanks everyone, we are having a ball getting this done. I unfortunately have zero pics of my dad taking it around the block the other day for the first time in more than twenty years. I swear he looked 40 years younger as he rolled by.

Keith I really hated selling the pick up but seeing my Dads face when I told him to take it for a spin it was definitely worth it...

one more thing, We have decided at least for now to just preserve it and run it as is for a while. I think when we restore it it will go back to the way it was when the old man finished it including the funky interior (Are you reading this Dad) .. Not a show car but a fun cruiser just the way it was in the 70's.....

the brake booster, master cylinder and brackets all came from eBay as a kit. You can also get it at Danchuk or most tri five suppliers..
