K...Plugs..Cleaned..Gapped

 

The guys I knew would be in their late 60's early 70's now. Most were Hispanic, rode BSA's and Triumph choppers. They were sort of on the bad ass side of society but seeing I was in the 6th grade, they were way cool!

 

This is one of the main reasons I joined the H.A.M.B.!

Normally we don't get the instant gratification!

 

"Running rich". You've got a carb issue to attend to eventually. But it's ok for now...the engine will run fine...at least for a few minutes. Better to have a somewhat rich mixture than lean.

After you get the plugs cleaned and reinstalled and the sparkplug wires back on the correct plugs, lets start the engine for just a few seconds to test for improvement.

I took as close a look at your pic of the points. Looks like you had the cam in the right position. From here, the gap kind of looked like it could be a bit big, but I'm probably wrong...just the angle of the shot. You're pretty confident you got it close?

 

Hate to keep going off topic but let's face it, Sloopys slow. My son lives in Saint Helen's Oregon, is that close to your island?

 

Oh yeah you never mentioned what you set the points gap at?

 

We were shooting for .016

I just double checked the gap..But..Im ..HOPING the PLug wires are correct...Im using the same patern as the previous owner..... I know its..1-5-3-6-2-4..butt...Im not..100% he had it correct...On the Cap..

 

That's what I hope he ended it at just making sure he didn't set it to .039"
