That must have been a concept car from Ford of Canada as it has an early “flow-through ventilation” windshield!

    SAVE that grille...

Yes Lane... it was a true pleasure speaking with you as well... We shall be in touch very soon.

Getting into the nasty dirty job of the floors..... just cutting, fitting and removing crap from 60 years in the channels and floor areas. The EMS pan and panels are the best. They fit very well. Some small rot, which is being fixed..... all in the customary problem areas of a 57-58 Ford.
    Pushing forward.

Floors are on my list as well. Although, I am trying to find a way to save the rear pans because of the bullet holes in them-adds character.

  6. At least you'll have floor drains covered :)

  7. oh right... my seats have to come out to fix the floors, as a northerner, seat removal is terrifying, as you might have a bolt break right off.

Got the floors fitting to a good point.... now I will pull them off and paint the channels and frame sections with a garden variety of rust paint/protection......
I have the left toe board... but may have to order a right... Unless I can cobble a small section in.....
The left toe board is the worst... but its only a small area.
Things I do in the evenings. ha ha ha.

  10. Looking great. I'm fortunate that the floors in my '59 were near perfect. Taking out the entire interior helps to see what you got.

Sweet, probably my favorite model of 57 Ford. One of my buddies had one in trade school that he swapped the first crate motor I ever saw or heard of into = Ford 390 and a new across the counter at the dealer's parts room Ford 4 speed with Hurst shifter. His dad had the gas station across the street from the Ford Dealership in Grandview Wa in the 60's. He got it together and had it painted 57 Pontiac lime fire green and it looked as good as it ran.

Awesome, Jeff!! Two at once. After seeing this car waiting for ya at Bob's many years ago, I never could figure out how you managed to find another you'd rather start on first, but TWO at once, wow! You're gonna love putting the miles on either. I just turned 54,000 miles on mine in the past 5 years, including a 4k trip to Florida in March. LOL, maybe we could meet there next year, it'd be about 1/2 way! Just an incentive pic: IMG_2968_Moment.jpg

Well… I do have some more progress… boring as it may be… but I feel necessary….
The floors are all fitted and ready to go in for some spot welding… but now that the old floors are gone… it was the chance to clean and protect the inner channels and floor braces…they were packed solid with dirt and crap.
Cleaned out and then prepped and painted the the inners.
Also cut the rocker tops off and did them as well.
Must have been 3-4 inches of garbage in there
57 Rockers are nearly always destroyed…. These were very decent.also got the complete frame finished up as well. CB611994-4AE6-459A-99F4-8300021AFD73.jpeg D0E508FB-C0D3-431A-B209-572F12375A49.jpeg F93CCB8F-8065-482D-A077-6D98D51AFDF9.jpeg 5F8EF011-4CB8-4FE2-A159-AA46E31A3B35.jpeg
    I was surprised.
I used some Por-15 in conjunction with a rust paint.
At this point I got thinking… since the floors are out of the way… might be a good time to bend up some brake lines and keep them aside
    Not sure.
    Anyhow… that’s all for now.

They say the 57 Ford had more first time features and parts then any other car ever made.. Was Lee Iacocca at the helm then?

For 58, the Pontiac was in that seat.. Those lighted jet exhausts on the side of the car were so cool.

I have always loved the look of the 57 Custom 300's. Here is a pic of my friends 57. The hood came off of the Ranch Wagon I parted out a few years ago. 102921 011.jpg
