After months of trying to sell my 56 Chevy wagon, it finally happened and it is going to Sweden. Wanted something completely different, more of a 60's Kustom. So, I picked up a 64 Mercury Montclair. Unbelievably clean, 73K original miles, power everything, A/C works etc....Stacks of reciepts including tranny and engine rebuild totalling almost what I paid for the car. Ordering my Surpeme's tonight, roof to be flaked, Cherry Bomb exhaust, and a couple odd's and end's and it is good to go. Great driver right now. Here it sit's in the spot I found it.....
Before or after I bought it ? It had a bunch of people around it when I saw it, they guy that was talking to the owner had a shirt that said "Rt's Classic Car Buyers" and he said he would be right back, while he was gone I jumped in an took it. Had an offer for more than I paid before I left....
Are those Astro slots (chrome steel) on there now? If they are and if they're in useable shape, I'd keep those, they're getting hard to find in good shape and much more unique than Supremes, and just as period correct.
This thing is so clean and runs and drives so well. I stole this car....Stoked to get my wheels and paint done.
