'56 Fairlane Yblock Headers, Disc Brake conversion

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by raceron1120, Aug 6, 2008.

    1. Does anyone know a good source for small tube headers for a '56 Fairlane Yblock? Smallest I've seen for car application is 1 3/4", am looking for 1 5/8", maybe 1 1/2".
    2. Also, how about a disc brake conversion that will bolt on to the '56 Fairlane? I've seen stuff like Jamco kits that include the spindles but wonder if any "junkyard finds" might work, & save me a few $$$

Come on guys.... my father has a 55 with a Y block and if no one speaks up a 460 crate motor will be going in!!!! Pu pu pu pu puleeeaase shoot some info out there. Scarebird has expressed interest in producing a kit for the 55 to 57 spindle but can't get love from the rodders, or anyone to donate the spindle.
