Hi folks! I need your opinions.

My original goal for the Bel Air was 50s mild custom.
I´ve got a set of new wide whites for it and I think I´ve messed up a bit. The car is actually 1" higher now than it used to be when the old wheel / tire combo was on.
On the other hand I really like how the tires go up into th wheel well.
I went for 225/75-15s, maybe I should have taken 215/70s...

I´ve been building this car for almost 5 years now , maybe I´m already blind for the details, so any input is highly appriciated.

    Thanks, Chris

i think it looks great but unless its bagged you better watch for speed bumps and debris on the road

  3. Looks perfect...you won't be any lower without being bagged or just impractical....

    I love it.

Thanks guys, it is bagged but not c-notched etc. Just bags and dropped spindles. I had to add the bags because I would drag the headers on the road with more than two passengers on board.

If I didn't like something about it, I would tell you. That being said, I think it sits just fine like this. As long as nothing rubs or hits, you hit a home run there!

    Baumi,

MY '49 Caddy was so low that I would bottom out some on the road and couldn't get into my drive way. Solution was to bag the front end which raised the car two inches in the from. I can't get the car out of the drive way without raising the front, then letting it back down after leaving the driveway. With air bags you can put the stance any where you what it, after sitting the front alignment.

  11. I don't see a damn thing wrong with THAT stance. Congrats!

  12. Looks great as is. Love '56 Bel Air two door posts. Had one as my first "good" car in '61. Black and white, lowered about 2", 1" whites and Lancer spinners.

From someone who believe a car should be hammered.. I think you nailed the tires size and stance... these cars look better with a taller tire like a 75 series.. nice job

  19. Way KOOL! But I'm a sucker for a slammed 56 Chevy. Now if I could just get back to working on mine, hmmmmmm

  20. I'll tell ya, I opened this, and thought, "Now theres one sexy car!" I couldn't imagine it any higher or lower, and if that fine machine was mine, that is exactly how I would want it to stand.

    Just my $0.02...
