Making huge progress on perfecting my 56 Bel Air post gasser. While projects are never done, I am getting pretty close. Major things to tackle next are a decent rear end, current is stock 8.2 with 4.11s and a spool (the weakest link) and a driveshaft needs to happen ASAP, the one I am running shook violently on the dyno over 100.... it's just too short and probably out of round. I have done my best to keep the car as true to the era as possible, but I'm sure there is a little post 1970s era stuff in there somewhere. I normally do Model As and this is the most fun I have had with a build in a long time. 1.JPG 3.JPG 6.JPG 16.JPG IMG_7164.JPG IMG_5897.JPG IMG_7187.JPG IMG_5614.JPG

    looks real good!

The aluminum radiator really stands out, you can spray paint it black and it will be far less obvious. The optima battery, too, could be replaced with a normal one.

I'd rather see a hood and a back bumper on it, looks naked without them to me. But it's not mine, so make yourself happy and don't listen to me....

Ha. Squirrel beat me to it. And that billet swivel thermostat housing. Those things drive me nuts.

I have a hood, still working in trimming out the hole. I had a Two Lane Blacktop mailbox scoop and am ditching that.

Hey there, Looking real good, but 56 Chevrolet's always do, no matter what style they are built in (and I'm only on my TENTH 56 Chevrolet). I'd have sent you a P.M., but your "start a conversation" and your "profile" pages come up as "ERROR" (???). So, if you have ANY interest in selling your "spool" in the stock rear end, remember me FIRST! Aubrey Bruneau, the Canadian Super Stock racer, and Canadian Pontiac guy (BruneauPerformance.Ca) was the only guy I knew of who made spools for these rear ends, and he's not making them any longer; not enough demand I guess. $$$, trades, or you name your poison, as they say. I have tons of stuff, and bought something today that would fit your build perfectly to help it fit the "era"/70's. Keep me in mind. Thanks, I am Butch/56sedandelivery.
