I've never heard a starter getting spit out before either. I hope you didn't crack the block where the starter mounts. There is a bracket that mounts to the block for the front of the starter. I've never used one even with a 11 to 1 compression. I have had starters break mounting bolts, but that was before I learned about using the correct bolt. Laying under a car using an e/z out really sucks.

  12. I've heard of a starter doing that when an engine was hydro locked, hopefully you don't have any other issues with the timing being that far off.

  18. I started a dormant stock car with e BBC one season after a long winter's rest using starting fluid... BOOM... blew the nose cone off the starter, no other damage. Have not used starting fluid since.

    upload_2021-4-15_8-27-34.png
    - Got some ticking lifters cleaned out...(CC 854-16)
Comp Cams asked me if I soaked them in oil before installing?
Yes Sir!..."There's your problem it gunks 'em up...We really don't recommend that!"
Except all Your manuals and spiffy YouTube instructions Recommends to do so!?
They're still "rattling a little now and then" but it's quieter and across the line!
And the 854-16 Do Not come a part (only partially)...Parallel bar rivets blocks it.

    - Blinker stopped working.
It Sucks to trouble shoot the electrical without a wiring diagram!!
Finally got the Blinker Relay out - STUCK! ripped the connectors out!
