Here are some cool photos of my project I would like to share with everyone. It's a '56 Buick Special that I lowered 5", purchased white walls and painted the wheels a pearl white. Stock drivetrain original 322 nailhead. Basically fixed it up and got it running and buffed the old paint to make it a fun cruiser. 10549986_10203154877286255_870500210019856200_o.jpg 10368834_10203164631930115_5146001154241896140_o.jpg 10644523_10203659934912380_4612238085088113044_o.jpg 1009096_10202374576299218_1289211985_o.jpg 1890544_10202368060176319_1871892967_o.jpg

Speaking of which, ever notice the little dingus up by the drip rail on many of the police cars in the show? Always wondered what that was. Nice '56! Nonamebc.jpg

Ah, 10-4. Thanks! Sorry for the sidetrack Nick. I do agree with Slopok though, you ought to get yourself a fedora if you don't have one..:)

Thanks for the likes and comments, I actually do have a fedora that sits in the back package tray sometimes haha. Yes I was at the Mitchell car show it was a great time. Thanks again I'll post more pictures as I continue to change and modify the look of it

Looks good. Reminds me of the '54 Special 2-door I had back in the late fifties. That may be the only car that I wish I had now. Mine was factory stick shift. Is yours?

  13. Where did you find that nice look'n '56 ?? I'll take one just like it, only two-tone, brown & white.
Gotta love a Buick, I grew up in a family that started driving "Big Buicks" in 1928 and
    continued until 2001 !

This Buick has the dynaflow 2 speed automatic transmission, I actually found the car on Craigslist, so here's the story. My uncle had a '55 Buick Super when I was maybe 12 years old and I absolutely loved that car, I was sad when he sold it. 12 years later at the age of 24 I saw this car for sale on Craigslist and scraped up enough cash from my savings account because I instantly fell in love with it. I now believe in love at first sight haha because I just had to have it.

    Cool Buick!!

But beware of that "Dynaflow 2-speed" idea. It does not shift like a more common automatic trans. Put it in Drive and leave it there, unless on a hill, need a fast launch, or in heavy traffic. Then, use Low for a bit. But going from one to the other, be gentle and let off the gas. Too much shifting, or doing so on accell will ruin a Dynaflow. You may know this already, but just in case... Have fun!

The car was lowered with 3" lowering springs and shocks on all four corners of the chassis with 2" drop spindles in the front and a modified rear cross member that was cut and raised into the trunk floor allowing the rear coil springs to sit 2" higher in the rear of the car.
