Is the front suspension of a 56 T-bird the same as a 56 passenger car or wagon? Have one with a decent straight axle but might switch it back, can't remember if the a-arms & such are Bird-specific, or same as full-size Ford- thanks

  2. Other than the springs, it's the same as the other cars.

If you're running a "Y" block the original springs are good. If you go to a later SBF it weigs less than the "Y" block and the front end will rise up. If you want the stance back down (with the SBF) you might want to put in springs from an Aerostar.

Same as the big car. Very strong and many ways to lower even using stock length springs. Aerostars are compound wound and can give you a fun ride in a dip in a street or highway. The front frame cross member is very important and needs to be rust free.

I always thought the T-Bird had long control arms for such a small car and that's a good thing.
