I can't find a right motor mount for my 1955 Pontiac Star Chief. The engine and transmission are ready to go back in today, but the transmission mount is the only thing that's holding us back.

I have the left one and it's not terrible, but if I could buy a set of left and right that would be awesome. Does anybody have any idea where I can get transmission mounts?

    Thank you

Good luck with your search. I'm sure you'll find one.

I remember searching for them for my 55 Olds and they were around $70 back in 1990.

It was my left one that snapped from the brutal torque put out by the stock 324. I was in high school, so while I save up my $70, I wrapped a cable around the frame and exhaust manifold to hold the engine down. Otherwise the accelerator and shift linkage would bind and hold it in the wide open throttle position in which all 16 year olds are mandated to drive.

  6. What transmission do you have? A Hydramatic or a selector shift?

The above E-Bay reference, and another one is Item # 181677950941 for the left side. Get a Hemming's; there used to be someone who would remanufacture your old mounts. Send your mounts in, they use the metal, and rebound rubber to them. Can't remember a company name however. I am Butch/56sedandelivery.
