Well I got my speedometer working fine now I want to move on to the fuel gauge. The car has a fuel cell and no sending unit in it yet. The gauge goes to full when I start the car. Im guessing I can buy a universal unit with the correct ohms and tank depth and hook it up to the original gauge? Does anyone know what the original ohms for 55 olds were? And why does the gauge go to full now with no sending unit? Thanks!

  2. your gauge needs a sender that is 0 ohms empty and 30 ohms full.

your gauge goes to full because without the sender wire attached to a sender there is infinite ohms. touch that wire to a ground and it should go to empty
