Any tips on a transmission swap for a 55 chevy 3600 with the 235 in it? What tranny to go with and any sort of adapter's?

    thanks

Manual? T5 with an S10 shifter housing is a common swap, A833 4 speed OD if you can find one with the GM pattern, or a 4 speed 3-groove Saginaw if you are going to change the rear end to something more favorable. Do you have a 3 speed or 4 speed in it now?

If you stay GM you don't need any adaptors, you just mill the nose of the T5 to fit so the clutch still works, and the Saginaw/Muncie transmissions fit directly but you have to figure out how to move the shifter.

If you are wanting to go automatic you can talk to Buffalo Enterprises up in Arlington, Wa. He makes adaptors.
