seats are pro car from summit. I removed the headrests after a very nasty bucket seat bashing i took on the board.

Not ideal or period correct seats, but i like them. Soooo

Not sure of your budget but this looked like good value if you wanted to put it together yourself.

Think you might need to upgrade the rear end though....

Feel for you, nothing worse than breaking your car when you have a family demanding feeding...

anyone know anything about 454 motorhome engines?

I have a line on a 78' 454 with under 10K miles for CHEAP. Looks like they come with a 4B main and steel crank. This might be my cheap ticket back on the road.

Getting numbers to validate before I go ou tot look at it.

they have beafier rods too, i think they might have cast pistons though not good for blowers. and it sounds like you drive it like its stollen lol (as would I) something with good pistons and rings sounds ideal for you.

Guy sold the engine while I was heading out there to look at it.

I either need to go the used CL route or throw big money at it.

Have to ask, what exact stupid stuff did you do for that to happen?. Float the valves, drop a valve, to much blower. Hell I almost sent my rearend to the scrap yard in Hollywood last night missing around with my buddy Brian with his 30 coupe. Seemed we got cought up acting out American Graffiti.

stop light racing by myself. :D Honeslty I don't know why the engine blew other than a combination of things including the the wrong long block in the wrong application.

Thats a sweet 55, looks great man. The rearend destruction was awesome, made some cool trohpys. The engine not so much, I'm very sorry to see that. Both were bound to happen tho...stock cast piston 454 and a stock chevy dropout would never live with that blower. Dana 60 out back and forged everything up front.

Unfortunately, there are no cutting corners when building a blower motor. Good crank, rods and blower pistons are a must. Not cheap, but either is doing this a couple times. If you think about it, it is a minor job compared to all the work you have done building this car. Good luck with building the new motor.
