Hey I got this link from a friend, check it out! Amazing the driver survived!! Hope this not start a tread about the Shoebox question again. http://www.hotroddersauctions.com/forum/don-renfrow-the-luckiest-man-in-the-world-vt30.html Lars
Thats from The Jackson Brothers film "Shoebox Dream" Pretty damm incredible, specially as the guy ends up standing up and watching the car tumbling away!!
Holy crap... this guy was back on his feet before the reareand came back down and hit the ground and did you see how high the seat went. That boy had an angel sitting on his shoulder.
I think the previous run was still on the board. He had a 12.30 dial in on the window. Great illustration of why you don't get back on the gas after you lift though. He wasn't even going quick enough for the rules to require a roll bar and look what happens. Ouch.
That Chevy is such a pile. That dude is lucky his ignorance didn't kill him. (although I am a proponant of thinning the heard) It seriously looks as if the car really was heald together with duct tape. There is no way the seat should've ejected like that if it were in there properly. He probably had it sheet-metal screwed to the pop-riveted over rust floorboards. Bone head. Still a killer vid though. Joe
The safety regulations are in place for reason. I'll never stop wondering why there's so much complaining about those. During years I've heard hundreds of times "why do i need to install a cage my car goes only 12's". Good video showing you why, and not even that helps when not done right.
