The conversion is good, braking much improved, stance is better, but still needs 1 1/2 coil cut out for a lower Altitude The problem is the turning radius totally blows now, can anything be done to fix the turning radius or at least make it a little better? thanx, xtra
You can buy oilpans notched to clear drag links or just notch it yourself with some exhaust tubing. Check this out for a 66 Nova http://www.chevysri.com/images/64-67_Nova_Pan.jpg
i just bought a kit for my 57, but haven't installed it yet. with the two in. spindles you shouldn't have this problem. isn't the pin just moved higher on the spindle? if so, that shouldn't change the tie rod angle.
Don't 55 Chevy's have a center link that turns on the pitman and an idler? Why would the spindles/brakes/coils have moved this? Did you change oil pans?
yup, center link hitting the pan has nothing to do with the lowering job. Some disk conversions limit steering travel, but I think that's is only when used with stock spindles, not dropped ones.
