55 Chev bumper on a 54?

Something makes me think I've heard of this before, anyone know for sure if they are somewhat interchangeable?

I was in Danchuk the other day and they had a real nice one piece for a 55 on display, looked very similar to my 54's bumper, but I didn't take dimensions.

 

Foose put a 56 bumper on the 54 chevy they built, so I would say its close.

 

I have a 56 bumper on my 54 (front & back).
Works well, need to do a few mods though.

 

Custom54-What kind of mods did you have to make for using the '56 bumpers? Could not see entire pic that you posted. Thanks

 

You need to extend the (I think it's called) valence pan about 1 1/2" both front and back. You should be able to see that in the photo.
The rear bumper at both ends where cut and turned in towards the quarter panels about 1/2" for a better fit. I guess a bit of work, but I think when done they fit nice. You could just modify the mounting brackets a little and they would fit, the width is good, depends how fussy you are.
