The power pack had upgraded heads, a four barrel carb, dual exhaust and the brake and fuel lines were moved to the outside of the frame.

They had more compression with the different heads. They required premium fuel vs. reg.
  4. From memory......start of availability was in 1956....
    Dual EXhaust-
    Four barrell intake and carb
Power pack heads [denoted by a :triple crown marking"[3 points]on the raised" block" marking at lower frt of heads...the same block marking with ONE point denoted a two barrell carb.....

I bought a new '55 with the 265 w/powerpack. It only consisted of 4 barrel and dual exhaust. My avatar picture was taken in '55. Note the original exhaust tips.
