Technical '54 straight 8 harmonic balancer removal

    My first balancer removal and I don't see any bolt holes that the typical pullers are used to get this sucker off. I got the main bolt out and got luckier than others I've heard from. Do I use the other style puller with the "fingers"? I don't have any pullers and I want to borrow the right one for the job. Thanks!

    You know what? Nevermind, I was able to gently rock the balancer off after 10 or 15 minutes with a couple boards. I'm going back there to fix a leak, either the timing chain gasket or crank seal. Oil must have seeped into the shaft cuz it was oily making less friction and that's probably how I was able to do it? Either way I'm happy.

    I was gonna say, "A lot of the older engines aren't press-on but a precise slip fit. A pair of big screwdrivers may just pry it off nicely". Sounds like he got it.
